Two clinics have been commissioned in Bikita, Masvingo province at Shumbaimwe in Ward 11 and Mupamaonde in Ward 22 amid excitement by the villagers.

Villagers used to walk long distances such as 30km to health institutions away from their areas due to shortage of clinics.

Masvingo Provincial Medical Director (Pmd) Amadeus Shamhu said the clinics were critical in the rural areas.

He applauded Bikita RDC and Bikita Minerals for these clinics which are going to go a long way serving the community.

Bikita Rural District Council (RDC) chief executive officer (Ceo) Peter Chibi the clinics are a big relief for villagers adding that they commissioned two clinics as a giant step towards health delivery.

"Some villagers would walk very long distances to get health services but now they can access clinics close to them," he said.
