Zimbabwe has extended vital medical support to neighbouring Botswana by supplying a consignment of anti-retroviral drugs (ARVs), with 80% provided as a loan and 20% as a donation.
The development was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via its official X (formerly Twitter) platform. "The Government of Zimbabwe has extended vital support to the Republic of Botswana through a consignment of Anti-Retroviral drugs (ARVs), with 80% in the form of a loan and 20% being a donation," the ministry posted.

The handover was jointly witnessed by Spencer Mqabuko Dube, Director for Africa, Asia and the Pacific; Botswana's Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Sarah S. Molosiwa; and NatPharm Managing Director Newman Madzikwa. The officials oversaw the loading of the consignment ahead of its departure to Botswana.
The Ministry described the gesture as part of Zimbabwe's broader strategic commitment to shared prosperity, regional health security, and strengthened bilateral cooperation.
