The Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) has expressed unwavering solidarity with Zukiswa Wanner, Nkosi Zwelivelile Mandla Mandela, Riaaz Ismail Moolla, and other peaceful activists reportedly abducted by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) while delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

"We are deeply alarmed by these violations of human rights. The actions of the IOF represent a clear breach of international law and the Geneva Conventions, disregarding the basic principles of human dignity and justice. The blockade of Gaza continues to devastate civilian lives, and obstructing humanitarian aid further worsens the suffering. The abduction of respected activists, including renowned author Zukiswa Wanner, marks a troubling escalation of intimidation and violence," ARTUZ said.

"We call for the immediate and unconditional release of all detained activists. We further demand that the IOF allow the safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza. Governments across the globe must stand firm, uphold international law, and hold those responsible for these abuses accountable."

ARTUZ said they stand with the global community in condemning these acts.

"We urge the Zimbabwean government and all governments to raise their voices against these injustices. Our solidarity is with the people of Gaza and everyone affected by this ongoing conflict," ARTUZ noted.

"Together, we must ensure the safe return of our fellow activists and guarantee that humanitarian aid reaches those who desperately need it."
