Bulawayo man in court for crystal meth possession

BULAWAYO - A 25‑year‑old man from Magwegwe has appeared in the Bulawayo Regional Court facing charges of unlawful possession of crystal methamphetamine, one of Zimbabwe’s most dangerous narcotics.
Qhubekani Brendon Ndlovu stood before magistrate Beverly Madzikatire charged under Section 157(1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23].
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody to 16 January for trial.
According to the State, a police detective received a tip‑off on 29 December at around 2.30 PM alleging that Ndlovu was in possession of illegal substances at Egodini Bus Terminus.
Officers located Ndlovu seated at a vending stall and conducted a search, reportedly discovering one sachet of crystal meth in his trouser pocket.
He was arrested on the spot.
The seized substance carries an estimated street value of ZWG150.
