There was drama recently when a suspect who was saved by the police officers when being attacked by members of the public later took off his pair of trousers and put them on the cop and also insulted her saying she has not even attained five years in the force.

This was heard by Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya when Sindiso Dube (27) appeared before him charged with public indecency and undermining the authority of a police officer.

He was not asked to plead to the charge and was remanded out of custody to September 30 for trial.

The court heard that on September 20 this year at 12.30pm the police officer Shingirai Tamamwa (29) of Nketa was in police uniform with other police officers when they saw Dube being assaulted by certain people at Broad Way Spar in Bulawayo.

She intervaned but Dube insulted her in Shona saying she has not even attained five years in the force.

He then poked her on the head with his finger and he went on to remove his jersey and tracksuit bottom and placed on the police officer's head.

The police officer later encouraged him to put on his clothes but he walked through the city up to Bulawayo Central only in his underpants.

He only dressed up when they reached the police station.
