Zanu-PF supporters in Mashonaland Central are preparing to unleash a reign of terror on opposition supporters ahead of the 2018 harmonised election.

The 2018 polls are now likely to be the bloodiest ever seen in the province after the news came out of a Zanu-PF district youth meeting. The Zanu-PF Acting Provincial Chairperson for Mashonaland Central Dick Mafiosi addressed the meeting held on the 15th of January 2017 at Chipadze Tendai Hall in Bindura.

Mafiosi who is brother to Zanu-PF Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere, a key member of the G40 faction that is opposing Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa's bid to succeed President Mugabe, acknowledged the existence of factions within Zanu-PF while addressing the gathering mainly comprised of Zanu-PF youths from Bindura District.

"There are people within the party who want remove our president from power through unconstitutional means, be wary of such people who are using money to destabilise the party." said Mafiosi.

Mafiosi also said the biometric registration exercise has presented some challenges on the way Zanu-PF prepares for elections as it makes it hard to manipulate.

"ZEC will be rolling out a new voter registration in March and the party has arranged a special program for our supporters to register without hassles. With the biometric system we might not be able to control things as we used to do in the past, but I want you to pass this message to all neighbours that Zanu-PF that can rule this country. Blood will spill should they vote for Tsvangirai in 2018"

The strategy to unleash enough violence and terror -- worse than seen in the bloody 2008 presidential run-off poll in which at least 200 of Tsvangirai's supporters died and tens of thousands of others were made homeless is to make sure that electorate is thoroughly cowed into voting for the Zanu-PF in 2018.

Mafiosi also took a dig at exiled opposition activists from Bindura Trevor Chitare, Jealosus Chihota, Collen Mutswiri, Fortune Chikosha and Mike Handisen whom he accused of funding youths from the opposition to commit acts of terror in a bid to undermine the government.

"People like Mutswiri be warned, we have intelligence on your activities. Zanu-PF is a big organisation and its long arm will soon catch up with you" said Mafiosi
