Baby injured as truck, train collide

An eight months old baby was injured when a goods train collided with a haulage truck at the Mapinga Great Dyke Pass rail crossing along the Harare/Chirundu-Chirundu highway yesterday.

The driver of the truck belonging to G and H Transport failed to stop upon approaching the rail line as regulated resulting in the collision with the train which hit the right side of the truck which was carrying four people including the injured baby.

The truck was extensively damaged while the train also suffered frontal damages.
