AN ALLEGED thief who was believed to be using his baby as a bait to steal from shops located in the Central Business District has been caught.
Lloyd Munyukwi from Chitungwiza was bashed after he was caught by a security guard identified as Goodluck Maromo. Goodluck, whose name acted in truth, is believed to have caught Lloyd in the shop at the corner of Robert Mugabe Avenue and Fourth Street.
Lloyd who is alleged to be working in cahoots with his wife Nora Muza was holding their baby and draping a towel on his shoulders. It is also believed that Lloyd was stuffing his stolen goods under the towel.
Lloyd is said to have stolen from the shop twice yesterday morning before Goodluck followed him to First Street where his partner in crime was waiting for him.
After suspecting that something was fishy, the wife is said to have fled leaving behind some of the stuff believed to have been stolen. The stuff, which included five jackets, four pairs of sneakers, t-shirts and under garments, were stashed in a bag.
