BUSTED!
Two undercover police officers nabbed an alleged forex dealer who advertised her services to them.
Police officers Yvonne Kupeta and Mary Ndebele testified against Petros Muzambara facing charges of violating the Exchange Control (General) (Amendment) Order, 2017 (No. 18) which states that it is illegal to trade in foreign currency.
The two cops arrested Muzambara after she said to them "asintshintsheni makhiwa" — which is debatably street language insinuating that one has money to change for clients.
In her defence, Muzambara said she was a vendor in town and had no case to answer for.
"I do not know why I am here, I am just a vendor who sells sweets and mats along 6th Avenue and Herbert Chitepo," she said.
On her arrest the police officers discovered that she had $17 in bond notes and R400 money which she said was sent to her from South Africa.
Magistrate Rumbidzai Mukanga remanded Muzambara in custody. She will appear on 2 November for judgment.
