The Minister of State Security in the President's Office, Kembo Mohadi is facing the axe from the ruling Zanu-PF party, and possibly government, as Grace Mugabe's G40 faction ups its blitz against perceived allies and supporters of former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa who was fired yesterday.

According to Khuluma Africa, Mohadi, a long term heavy weight and one of Mugabe's long trusted lieutenants, has previously served as Home Affairs Minister for well over a decade.

Mohadi joins a long list of high profile Ministers and former Minister from Zanu-PF who look likely to face the chop together with Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa, largely seen by the Mugabe family as a rival to Grace Mugabe's accent to the throne of Presidency was fired amid confusion yesterday afternoon.

His axing came as no surprise after the Mugabes went of a full fledged assault over two consecutive rallies.

Other high profile members who face the sack are former Minister of State for Provincial Affairs in Matebeleland South Province, Abednico Ncube; Minister of Cyber Security, Threat Detection and Mitigation, Patrick Chinamasa, Minister of Water, Environment and Climate, Oppah Muchinguri, and the former Minister of Information, Chris Mushowe.

Khuluma Afrika understands that the Mugabes chose to fire Emmerson Mnangagwa hastily after his support grew exponentially.

Initially they preferred to keep Mnangagwa and then engineer his exit at congress. But after Grace Mugabe was heckled and Mnangagwa was cheered, it became apparent that Mnangagwa was a serious threat to Grace's bid to take over.

However, Mnangagwa retains several powerful and key allies in the party. Yesterday Grace Mugabe asked all provinces to pass a vote of no confidence in Mnangagwa. By end of day, she only had managed to secure 4 provinces, and the Youth League.

Khuluma understands that this is the reason why Mnangagwa is still the Vice President of the Party and Second Secretary.

However, Grace Mugabe will push for demonstrations to oust him from the Party as well.
