Mugabe's army, top cops run Chinese mining firm

Directors of the Chinese-owned ANJIN mining company are drawn from Zimbabwe military and police, we reveal today.
According to an impeccable source, the directors include, Martin Rushwaya, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Oliver Chibage and Nonkosi M Ncube both police commissioners and Munyaradzi Machacha, a Zanu PF directors of publications.
Non executive members are Morris Musunungure and Romeo Daniel Mutsvuguma, a retired army officer.
"Mutsvuguma participated in the politically motivated violence in 2008. 25% in the Mbada mining firm was given to a company linked with Robert Mhlanga, a known ally of Mugabe.
"He was appointed by Mugabe to head the company which is said to have silent Chinese military partners," said the source.
Mbada is a public face of a diamonds for arms deals between Zimbabwe and China, with China in effect funding Mugabe's war chest- Global Witness report titled "Diamonds, A good deal for Zimbabwe."
Zimbabwe's mining industry has been riddled with corruption and dirty deals.
Mines and Mining Development minister Obert Mpofu has become fifthly rich and attributes his riches to farming, real estate and bank loans.
In the just ended Zanu PF conference in Bulawayo, Defense minister, who is also Zanu PF secretary foe legal affairs, Emerson Mnangagwa wrote a report to the Central Committee in which he mourned the prevalence of dirty deal in the mining sector.
Mnangagwa has also been accused of having a hand in dirty diamond deals in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has also not come clean on the matter.
Zanu PF is proceeds from shady mining deals to fund its activities.
