There is an outcry in Mashonaland Central Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) camp after many cops are calling for the transfer of Assistant Commissioner Trust Nhapata on corruption bases Bulawayo24.com has learnt.
Junior cops are circulating their grievances on social media citing that their Biometric Voters Registration (BVR) remuneration is yet to be paid fully but it is understood Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) paid ZRP fully.
Nhapata is also reported to have cancelled all occasional leave for all officers without any tangible reason.
He is further alleged to be refusing to pay officers' their Travel and Substance (T&S) expenses after attending funerals in the province.
Disgruntled cops who spoke to Bulawayo24.com said the force should just do away with Nhapata as it did to former Commissioner General Augustine Chihuri who was accused of criminalising the Generation 40.
"We are tired of Nhapata in our province he is a thug robbing our hard earned cash on 25 December a cop Inspector Nyagweta from Guruve died of Kachasu and was buried in Nyanga those who attended the funeral were supposed to get $165 T&S but nothing came out.
"You understand some 3 cops died in an inferno where 11 were burnt beyond recognition along Centenary-Mazowe highway in July 2017, those who attended the cops funerals were entitled to $55 per day but they got $30 for three days ,where is this money going? lamented the cops.
The issue of BVR monies was once published by this publication on 21 December and to date they have not received their monies.
When contacted for comment the Finance department Mashonaland Central province which is reported to be working in cahoots with Nhapata did not respond to a list of questions sent to them up to the time of this writing.
