THE ruling Zanu-PF party has embarked on a massive restructuring programme starting from cell level, as it gears for a landslide victory in general elections set for July this year.

Speaking at the ruling party's Mashonaland West provincial coordinating committee meeting in Chinhoyi recently, politburo member Priscah Mupfumira urged party members to check if their names were registered in the correct cells and wards to avoid being inconvenienced come election day.

Mupfumira said Zanu-PF members must make sure that all their leaders were registered.

"It's now game on as you can see that today is the day for all PCC to meet then tomorrow is the national cell day, where members should meet and check if all members are registered. Please check that members are in right cells following the reallocation of new polling stations by Zec during the voter registration exercise," Mupfumira said.

Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, President Emmerson Mnangagwa's Special Advisor, Christopher Mutsvangwa, rubbished accusations that he together with Zimbabwe Electoral Commission chairperson, Justice Priscilla Chigumba went to observe elections in Russia to be trained on vote rigging.

"We are invited to different countries as government or as a party. Why this hullabaloo on this trip from MDC-T. This is a clear sign that some political parties are afraid of losing elections like they have always do," Mutsvangwa said.
