Chamisa and Mnangagwa's victories

I take this opportunity to thank all the Zimbabweans for exercising their constitutional right of determining their future through the ballot. The atmosphere was the most peaceful I have ever encountered in the beloved nation of ours since its rebirth in 1980. It did signify the maturity and oneness we hold dear to and the love for peace and moving forward. This day, of the 30th July, saw the victories of political leadership with ZANU PF and MDC-Alliance, the top contenders supporters peacefully noting their choices through the ballot. However, political maturity and miscalculations led to unnecessary post-election violence. The unconstitutional march insinuated by the press conferences held by Tendai Biti had an intention of destabilizing Zimbabwe even before the final results were out. Was the intention to already bring a bad reputation upon security institutions and the current government? This indeed was intentional and I believe it was already hard for the MDC-Alliance to accept defeat which they knew was coming. Unfortunately, the blood of all those whom we lost falls in the hands of Biti and his allies. Had they been true leaders and true lawyers who know the wrath of law and consequences of being on the wrong side they should have acted responsibly. I for one would have wanted to see my generation taking Zimbabwe forward but our young tacts are badly advised or rather do not listen and worse still miscalculate. Anger does not solve political or leadership issues but rather strategy is key. Failure of the MDC-Alliance to unite with the rest of the oppositions was also key to their lose in addition to Mugabe endorsing Chamisa. Someone, we still have fresh wounds of his rule and whoever he supports is likely to raise eyebrows upon voters. One should wonder why Mugabe would choose Chamisa over his NPF -led by Mutinhiri???

Besides, Chamisa gave a hard fight, he tried and of course was the loudest ever during his campaigns, on the election day and during the vote counting and verification stages. His message though simple and clear, was to nullify anyone who could have won besides him under whatever circumstances. This was not bad but at least one should know that in the case that you loose, you should also be ready to concede and allow your supporters to unify with the rest of the population in order to maintain peace and move forward. Don't be fooled that an Odinga strategy will work in Zimbabwe and furthermore, we don't see any alliance members next to you as during the elections in support of your strategy - that is very fishy!!! Where are you getting your facts, be careful that you may loose everything including the trust that is still in your supporters. Generally the dog that barks louder has little to offer and creates more chaos by listening less and being more stubborn. Learn from the experienced, the ZANU PF party was ready to accept defeat at least publicly although they knew losing was less likely, of course they have the upper hand in terms of resources including state machinery and coercion of rural population.

Today, the two brothers should shake hands and unite Zimbabwe and work together to move our nation forward. It is time to rebuild this nation, it has suffered enough. My fellow Zimbabweans in the MDC-Alliance should restrain from calling for sanctions and more sanctions upon our land, this will not only lead them to loose their support base but also ruin the hope that they were instilling in people of a new Zimbabwe. Mnangagwa must know that we need a complete overhaul of the system from the visionless old comrades to a new blood of thinkers and innovators. Peace be upon you our mother land Zimbabwe.
