Former MDC legislator Norman Mpofu has confronted Greens Supermarket senior officials in Plumtree for demanding that customers buy grocery worth $10 before they could be allowed to buy 2lt cooking oil.
"I confronted Greenns Super Market over the issue of demanding $10 grocery before one is allowed to buy 2l cooking oil. At first the manger was arrogant. As things got nasty he offered me a strange explanation. He says conditional selling is done to control those who buy to sell in the black market. This is a very bad idea. It punishes the ordinary person and benefits the business person" he said..
"I must a knowledge that ZRP Plumtree were very sober and cooperative when they were roped in by the manager. Eventually by the end of day the conditional selling was stopped. Still other businesses are capitalising on this mess. Prices are unreasonably high. Others are demanding US dollars."
He said this is a party made tsunami. He said Zanu PF must must provide a solution.
