In a shocking move, President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Saturday praised Robert Mugabe as the Founding father of Zimbabwe and condemned anyone who holds contrary views.
Mnangagwa was addressing party supporters at Murombedzi, Mashonaland West  on Saturday.

Said Mnnagagwa, "Robert Mugabe is the Founding Father of the nation, he is our founding father of free Zimbabwe. Those with other ideas about this are dreaming and must do so at their homes. History will always record that the Founding father of this country is Gushungo.

"I would like  to thank the Gushungo clan for birthing, nurturing and giving us a gift in the form of Va Mugabe. The man led us in battle till we attained Independence and we are now moving the revolution that he started forward."

Mnangagwa condemned the G40 cabal that surrounded Mugabe during his last days as President.

"During the end of his rule, Mugabe was surrounded by criminals who knew nothing about the liberation struggle. They never knew that this Independence we are enjoying is a product of a liberation struggle.

"I would like to assure you that those who do not want to tore the revolutionary line will fall by the wayside.

"Thank you Chief  Zvimba and thank you people of Zvimba for coming in numbers to support this thank you rally that we organised to thank you for the support you have always given us."

President Mnangagwa is on a nationwide Thank you rallies that are meant to show gratitude to the voters who voted for ZANU PF.
