PHOTOS: Heavy police presence at Chef Ndiweni solidarity march

Members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police surrounded the Joshua Nkomo statue at the Bulawayo CBD on Friday after hearing of a planned Chief Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni Solidarity March.
Photos that emerged on the internet showed the place being surrounded by anti-riot police in armoured vehicles.
The police had also deployed water tankers which were on standby to disperse people.
The march was attended former MDC Youth Secretary General Discent Collins Bajila, activist Josphat Mzaca Ngulube, ZAPU leadership among others.
Chief Ndiweni has united the people of Matabeleland to speak with one voice concerning his attack.
On Wednesday and Thursday majority of organisations in Matabeleland issued solidarity messages.
The Nelson Chamisa led MDC and the Zimbabwe Communist Party were among those who issued solidarity statements.
