Zimbabwe midfielder Marvelous Nakamba is refusing to train with Club Brugge in a bid to force through a transfer to Aston Villa, according to reports in Belgium.
Nakamba has been heavily linked with a move to Villa Park throughout the summer window and his future is set to be resolved in the coming weeks.
The 25-year-old midfielder spent the summer in Egypt representing Zimbabwe at the Africa Cup of Nations and was due to report to his club today to begin pre-season training.
However, according the Belgian news outlet Nieuwsblad, Nakamba is in Paris and doesn't intend to return to Bruges.
Nieuwsblad state: "Premier League club Aston Villa offers around 10 million euros for the Zimbabwean, but Club Brugge does not want to accept that offer. However, Nakamba hopes that the transfer will be completed on Monday."
Nakamba has made over 60 appearances for Club Brugge since joining from Vitesse in 2017 but his days in Belgium appear to be numbered.
