Potraz warns money dealers

THE Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) has warned mobile money dealers against abusing technology to fuel economic problems in the country.
Potraz director-general Gift Machengete gave the warning while addressing delegates at the World Post Day celebrations held in Gokwe on Friday.
Machengete said the regulatory body would work together with the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to bring an end to the menace caused by "unscrupulous elements".
"ln as much as the diversity of technology has brought financial inclusion and convenience, I would like to warn all those unscrupulous elements who are conducting illicit activities using the various technologies available to desist from such as we will leave no stone unturned in bringing the culprits to book," Machengete warned.
The celebrations were held under the theme "More than Mail."
ICT minister Jenfan Muswere described ICTs as a new way of life and people must embrace them.
