Miner attempts to kill colleague with an iron bar

A Guruve miner Richard Chidzokorera is assisting police investigations after he severely assaulted another miner with an iron bar over a mining boundary.
The furious Chidzokorera went berserk on Saturday midnight after Wabutso Donald Makoni stormed at Chidzokorera's homestead aboard a Mazda Bongo with his workers an knocked at Chidzokorera bedroom door while he was asleep with his wife.
The suspect allegedly woke up and charged on Makoni who was accusing him of stopping his workers from carrying out mining activities at a site which was in dispute.
Wielding an iron bar Chidzokorera assaulted Makoni all over the body and his workers fled from the seen after sensing danger.
The charged suspect stopped assaulting Makoni after he became inconveniences.
Chidzokorera surrendered himself to the police after assuming that Makoni had died.
The police came and found Makoni in a pool of blood before taking him to Guruve hospital where he is currently battling for life.
Assistant Inspector Dhliwayo said police does not condone barbaric behavior shown by Chidzokorera.
"We do not tolerate barbaric behavior shown by the accused person people should seek peaceful methods of conflict resolutions."
