A Zimbabwean man, who stabbed his cheating wife on the thigh after he walked in on her while having sex with another man in their bedroom, got more than what he had bargained for after he was locked up in a Botswana remand prison.

According to reports by one of Botswana's popular newspapers, The Voice, Fabian Dube (40) who is self-employed as a builder failed to control his temper when he found his wife Blessing Ndlovu (23) and her lover busy like rabbits having sex.

This was heard before a Francistown Magistrates' Court where Dube was being charged with assault. Dube who pleaded not guilty said his cheating wife filed false charges against him as a way of ‘‘fixing'' him.

"I found my wife bending over, with another man standing behind her having sex.

I was from Palapye, where I am building some houses, and came to Tonota without telling her only to find her busy with another man," Dube told the court.

He maintained his innocence, claiming he never laid a finger on Ndlovu.

He then produced a pair of bright red panties from his jacket pocket, insisting the underwear was evidence of his woman's affair.

After ‘‘rumbling them in the act'', Dube told the court that the man fled, leaving him alone with his naked wife.

"I picked her panty from the floor and told her to come with me so we find the other guy and take him to the police. When we got to the bar where I suspected the man could be, we saw the police on patrol.

"My wife ran to them and reported that I was beating her and I was arrested. I do not know why I am the one in trouble because I was going to the police. I did not beat my wife," said Dube.

The court heard that trouble started after Dube accused his wife of cheating on him. At the height of a misunderstanding Dube started beating his lover with fists before he stabbed her on her thigh.

The woman was referred to hospital for medical attention.

His woes mounted after the court denied him bail and remanded him in custody saying he was in that country illegally, which he admitted.
