Cyclone Ana sweeps 10 away in Muzarabani

Ten boys have been allegedly swept away by tropical storm Ana in Mukumbura whilst fishing at a local dam last night, Bulawayo24.com has learn.
The boys have since been safely evacuated to Mozambique.

The Permanent Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Mashonaland Central Province, Timothy Maregere said apart from the damage to roads, no major incidences have been recorded except the evacuation of 10 marooned boys who were fishing at Bere village along Mukumbura river.
"The boys have been rescued and they have been taken to the Mozambican side and when the water levels resides we will bring them back. Most people have not had problems because they have been heeding to calls by the Civil Protection unit in the districts that they have to be in safe areas and this has happened and its has averted any issues that could have arisen The major problem we have is that the heavy rains have damaged quite a number of roads so most of our roads are now very difficult to use but will attend to that as soon as the weather permits).
District development coordinators are also conducting an assessment of schools and areas that may have been damaged by the tropical storm," he said.
However, in Manicaland province at least 105 homes, six school buildings and roads have been destroyed by the tropical storm.
