Zanu PF warns Chamisa anew over constitution ahead of 2023

ZANU PF is cranking up the heat on the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), with the ruling party reiterating yesterday that the new kid on the block should be excluded from next year's crunch polls because it does not have a constitution.
Speaking to reporters two weeks after the former liberation movement similarly piled on the pressure on CCC leader Nelson Chamisa, Zanu-PF chief whip Pupurai Togarepi said: "dictators had no place participating in national elections."
The Zanu-PF secretary for Finance, Patrick Chinamasa had also told reporters that it would be "wrong" to allow the CCC "in its current form" - without a constitution, substantive leadership and formal structures - to participate in the 2023 polls.
"If Chamisa wants to participate in next year's elections he can come as an independent candidate without representing a certain organisation because all political organisations should have structures and constitutions," said Chinamasa.
