Mvurwi Town Council (MTC) chairperson Shereni Mazhambe (ZANU PF) was on Sunday denounced by vendors in Mvurwi over ill-treatment by the local authority.
The vendors constituted the majority of party supporters at a Mazowe District Co-ordinating Committee ( DCC) rally at Mvurwi stadium expressed displeasure with their council chairperson.
Vendors association chairperson Lazarus Down Town told DCC chairperson Tafadzwa Musarara that ZANU PF did not have vendors at heart since Mazhambe was against them.
"As vendors we feel the party does not have us at heart because our council chairman does not fight in our corner we are being chased away from streets last time this DCC came and tasked the chairperson to help us but instead we are still suffering hence meetings like this will not help us," bellowed Down town.
Musarara who was trying to prove the innocence of the party called both Mazhambe and acting Town Secretary Obadiah Gapa to respond to vendors' cry.
Both Mazhambe and Gapa promised to prioritize vendors in their full council meetings.
Meanwhile, Mazowe DCC has embarked on President Emmerson Mnangagwa's campaign in a bid to get the five million votes target.
