Man Arrested for gruesome murder of a couple

A Plumtree man was on Wednesday arraigned before Plumtree magistrate's court Mr Joshua Nembaware facing two charges of killing a couple in Madabe area, under Chief Wasi.
The court heard that on 14 April 2023, the accused, Tafireyi Ndlovu(37) teamed up with Kudzani Mzthukuthu who is still at large and gruesomely killed Xolani Mpofu and his wife Sibalingene Ncube.
It is further stated that the two accused used open fits and even axed the now deceased before forcing Nomusa Moyo( wife to the accused) to drag the two bodies into a hut which they set ablaze.
The reasons for killing the couple are not known.
After committing the offence, Tafireyi Ndlovu eloped to Botswana using an undesignated exit point where he was arrested and extradited back to Zimbabwe for other offences.
