Son demands house ownership, threatens to kill his father

A violent son was on Monday arraigned before Plumtree Magistrate's court after he allegedly threatened to kill his father while demanding that he surrenders the house ownership to him.
Thuma Nkomo (36) of ZB township in Plumtree stood before Mr Joshua Nembaware facing attempted murder charges.
The state led by Mr Arnold Mudekunye heard that the accused on 26 October 2023 demanded that his father, Cleyford Nkomo surrender his house ownership papers, failure to that he was going to kill him.
"On the 26th of October 2023, at around 1900hours, the accused arrived home and found the complainant having dinner with other family members, and he demanded the ownership of the complainant's house. A misunderstanding arose between them leading to the accused acting violently by throwing plates of food to the ground and went to threaten the complainant that he is going to kill him and burn down the house," the court heard.
He eventually arrested and was remanded in custody to 12 November 2023 for trial.
