Bulawayo firms shine at ZNCC awards

At the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) 2024 Matebeleland Annual Business Awards, Mr. George Kudya of Star Distributors emerged as the star of the night, winning both the Overall Winner and Businessman of the Year awards.
Held in Bulawayo under the theme "Unlocking New Frontiers for Sustainable Industrialisation and Climate-Smart Business Growth," the ceremony recognized more than 43 companies and 21 businesspersons for their contributions to the economy in 2023.
Mr. Kudya, who operates a wholesale distribution company and farms over 100 hectares in Umguza District, expressed his joy and commitment to community-focused business practices. Other notable winners included Ms. Saliwe Tlou of Toppick Investment as Businesswoman of the Year, Hafiz Muhammad Naeem of Evergold as Entrepreneur of the Year, and Ms. Fortune Gonah of Freda Mine as Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Lifetime Achievement Awards went to Mr. Pathisa Nyathi, Gigas Stores, and Fawcett Security. Mr. Ntuseng Moyo of Injanji Investments won Rural Businessperson of the Year. The event also honored individuals and organizations across various categories, highlighting the diverse achievements in the Matebeleland business community.
