American Chamber of Commerce appoints Dudu Shinya as Executive Director

The American Chamber of Commerce in Zimbabwe (AmCham Zimbabwe) has announced the appointment of Duduzile Shinya as its new Executive Director.

Duduzile is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Zimbabwe (FCA(Z)), holding a Bachelor of Accounting Science Honours degree and a Masters in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa (UNISA). Her professional journey began at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she started as an Articled Clerk and advanced to the position of Senior Manager in Corporate Finance. Her extensive experience spans various industries including FMCG, financial services, investment promotion, and renewable energy.

In her most recent role at the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA), Duduzile served in operational and finance capacities, including a year-long tenure as Acting CEO. Her work involved collaboration with regional economic bodies such as the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), and the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Prior to ZIDA, she held significant roles with Takura Capital Group, overseeing finance departments at Medical Investments Limited and Amalgamated Brands. She also served as Finance Director for Schweppes Holdings Africa Limited.

Duduzile's leadership extends beyond her professional roles. She is a Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) and has been actively involved in various ICAZ committees. Her governance experience is extensive, having held board positions with prominent Zimbabwean companies such as Innscor Africa, Hippo Valley Estates, and CABS Zimbabwe. Additionally, she contributes to the public sector as a member of the Board of Governors of the Zimbabwe Foreign Services Institute and serves on committees within the Insurance and Pensions Commission (IPEC) and Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ).
