Inter Africa bus accident kills 7 in Harare-Bulawayo road crash

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a fatal road accident that occurred in the early hours of December 8, 2024, along the Harare-Bulawayo Road.
The crash happened around 3:30 AM at the 330-kilometer mark when an Inter Africa bus collided with the rear of a stationary truck. Seven people lost their lives in the tragedy, and the number of injured victims is yet to be confirmed.
The deceased were transported to Gweru Provincial Hospital mortuary, while the injured are receiving medical care at the same hospital.
The ZRP has assured the public that more details regarding the accident will be released in due course.
In light of the incident, the police issued a stern warning against the looting of goods from vehicles involved in road accidents. The ZRP reminded communities along highways that such actions constitute a serious criminal offence. The authorities warned that stealing goods from accident scenes for personal use, sale, or other purposes would lead to prosecution.
