Polygamous man, wives arrested for unlawful entry
A 33-year-old man and his two wives have been arrested in Rusape over a series of alleged unlawful entry incidents.

Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luxon Chananda confirmed the arrests of Bright Makwindi, Memory Mandindo (29), and Luica Chikono, whose age was not disclosed in court documents.

Chananda stated that the police launched a manhunt for the trio after a string of unlawful entry cases were reported between March and April 19. So far, the police have received 11 reports linked to the three suspects.

On April 19, while conducting a routine patrol in Rusape's Mabvazuva area, police noticed Makwindi loitering and searched his bag, discovering house-breaking tools. Makwindi managed to escape, but was later located at home along with his wives. He was arrested, and during questioning, revealed that his wives acted as advance parties.

According to Chananda, Makwindi disclosed that Mandindo and Chikono would visit houses under the pretense of requesting water. If no one was home, they would call him, and he would break in to steal household items. The stolen items reportedly included television sets, gas stoves, blankets, and other valuables, with an estimated total value of $265,000.

The police are continuing their investigations, as the total number of stolen items and their estimated value may increase.
