The Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira has confirmed that they are expecting a good harvest from normal rainfall currently received throughout the province in the midst of 2024-25 agricultural season which will compliment the central government's policy on food security and declared that no one will starve.

Speaking during an interview, Chadzamira disclosed that several dams in the province are full to capacity and will therefore provide sufficient water for irrigation.

"We are expecting a good harvest from Masvingo this season since the rainfall currently promises a good harvest. This will help us in ensuring that we will contribute for the country to be food secure," Chadzamira said.

"Meanwhile, we are also confident that our yields will improve through produce from irrigations in Masvingo. All dams throughout the province have recorded maximum water reserves. They are full to their capacity and we are therefore confident that irrigation schemes will play their role towards food security," Chadzamira added.

"As a province, we really appreciate the tireless efforts by His Excellency comrade Emmerson Mnangagwa for his generosity in feeding the whole country and making sure that none of the citizens starve. We are receiving food regularly and he is making sure that everyone has food on their table, so food sufficiency in my province has become a reality," Chadzamira appreciates.

"President Mnangagwa is ensuring that every household has food regardless of their political affiliation. He emphasized that food (including access to it) is a basic right which should be accorded to every citizen, hence we are making sure as a province that everyone is fed from the President's gesture, generosity and good heart for his people," Chadzamira said.

Minister Chadzamira further applauded the government's non-discriminatory policies and initiatives which ensure that everyone benefits from its programmes. He also emphasised that inclusivity and tolerance should be priorities for continuous transformations to be realised in Masvingo and the country at large
