Zimbabwe police intensify hunt for armed robbery suspects

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has warned armed robbery syndicates that it will intensify its crackdown on violent crime across the country.
The warning follows a shoot-out involving armed robbery suspect William Shereni Manase in Unit N, Seke, Chitungwiza, on September 15, 2026.
According to police, Manase sustained a gunshot wound during the confrontation with officers before escaping from the scene. A Toyota Vitz, registration number AFF 7478, was recovered.
Police said Manase is wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a company in Borders Estate, Ruwa, on September 13, during which US$108 000 in cash was allegedly stolen.
The ZRP said investigations were continuing and that other suspects linked to the robbery were also being pursued.
Police identified the suspects as Obert Tinarwo, who allegedly uses the alias Mambo Dhuterere, James Dhlora, alias Kasongo, and David Majagada, alias Kule Dhivha.
"The ZRP warns armed robbery syndicates that there is no going back in the fight against armed robbery cases throughout the country," police said.
The police further warned that suspects who confront officers or engage them in shoot-outs would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
Members of the public with information that could assist investigations have been urged to report to their nearest police station.
