Locally based senior national team players have left for Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, ahead of Zimbabwe's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Benin on Friday.
The travelling group includes goalkeeper Martin Mapisa, defenders Emmanuel Jalai and Godknows Murwira, as well as forwards Walter Musona and Terrence Dzvukamanja, who were accompanied by the technical team. They are scheduled to touch down in Abidjan on Monday afternoon.
In squad changes, in-form striker Tymon Machope has been called up to replace midfielder Jonah Fabisch, who has been ruled out after failing to recover from a concussion. England-based midfielder Tivonge Rushesha of Reading has also been drafted in as a replacement for Sean Fusire, who could not agree financial terms with ZIFA.
After their clash with Benin, the Warriors will shift focus to hosting Rwanda in South Africa next week.
