A gang of three men accused of terrorising Bulawayo's eastern suburbs has returned to court facing two additional counts of unlawful entry. John Malunga, Fungai Chinjodzi, and Arise Moyo, all from Nketa, pleaded not guilty before Bulawayo magistrate Dube-Banda.

Prosecutors allege that on 21 March, the trio broke into a house in Bradfield just after 1 AM, stealing a generator, electric stove, bicycle, and pressure washers. Hours later, they allegedly committed a second break-in in the same suburb, taking a gas stove.

Malunga, in his defence, claimed they were middlemen framed by police after attempting to sell items for a man named Mthokozisi.

The trio is already facing 19 counts of unlawful entry and theft before another magistrate and has denied all charges. Residents have expressed fear following the alleged crime spree, with many reinforcing home security.

The accused remain in custody and were remanded to 7 October, facing potentially lengthy jail terms if convicted on all counts.
