Zimbabwe Warriors coach Michael Nees has emphasised the importance of tactical discipline and effective strategy for the team ahead of their FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa.

The Warriors are set to face Bafana Bafana at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Friday, in what is officially a "home" fixture for Zimbabwe, although played in South Africa due to a stadium ban.

Nees highlighted the limited preparation time with the full squad, noting that only two full training sessions remain before the match. "Very important will be Wednesday's session and, of course, the matchday minus one session," he said. "These two sessions will be important for working on our strategy and tactical aspects."

The German coach also stressed the mental aspect of preparation, noting that theoretical sessions and analysis are as vital as on-field training. "You cannot train a whole week with the full squad for a match. You have two sessions," Nees said.

Despite the fixture being played in Durban, Nees encouraged Zimbabwean fans to show their support. "The stadium will be packed. We want all supporters, whether in Durban, Zimbabwe, or elsewhere, to rally behind us. We feel it, and we want to give our best for the match."

The upcoming clash is seen as a key part of the Warriors' preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations finals, where they are set to face South Africa again in the group stage.
