Man arrested for raping ex-wife

A 38-year-old man from Magwegwe has been remanded in custody after appearing before the Bulawayo Regional Court facing charges of rape.
The man allegedly sexually assaulted his former wife, aged 41, in the early hours of July 27, 2025. Court papers indicate that he entered the woman's bedroom at around 4 a.m., forcibly dragged her to the sitting room where their children were sleeping, turned off the lights, and allegedly ordered her to lie on the floor before committing the assault.
The incident was reported to Magwegwe Police Station, leading to his arrest. A medical examination was conducted on the alleged victim, and an affidavit confirming the assault was submitted in court as evidence.
The accused remains in custody as the matter proceeds through the legal process.
