5 family members killed in night attack in Guruve

A horrific incident in Guruve has left five members of the same family dead following a brutal attack at their Ona Mapeto Farm homestead in Ward 21 on Sunday night.
The victims include a 66-year-old mother, her 40-year-old son, a 37-year-old daughter, and two grandchildren aged 5 and 2. Reports indicate that all sustained fatal stab wounds during the assault.
Neighbours, alerted by screams from the homestead, rushed to assist and found the son still alive. He was immediately transported to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
The motive behind the killings remains unknown, and authorities have not yet identified any suspects.
The incident adds to a troubling pattern in the district, where 14 people have been murdered in separate cases in Guruve since October 2025, prompting heightened concern among residents and law enforcement.
