Two separate violent incidents over personal disputes have left two men dead in the capital, with four suspects facing murder charges.

In the first case, three men from Eastview Phase 2, Mabvuku, appeared before Magistrate Ruth Moyo on Tuesday charged with the murder of 27-year-old Evans Magirazi. The accused, Makhosini Phiri (24), Rudolf Saramunda (20), and Renias Kanjera (23), allegedly fatally assaulted Magirazi during a confrontation over his girlfriend outside Club Zion at Wenera Shops in Damofalls Phase 4 on December 24, 2025.

Prosecutor Lawrence Gangarahwe told the court that the accused struck Magirazi on the head with an unknown object, inflicting a deep cut above his right ear. Magirazi was rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A post-mortem confirmed the injuries caused his death. Since the offence is classified as a third-schedule crime, only the High Court can hear their bail applications.

In a separate incident in Kuwadzana, an 18-year-old teenager, Mtandazilwa Gumede, appeared in court today for allegedly stabbing a man in the stomach during a dispute, resulting in the victim's death. Gumede was remanded in custody, with the court noting that his bail application can only be addressed by the High Court. He is expected back in court on January 20 as investigations continue.

Both cases highlight the tragic escalation of personal disputes into lethal violence, raising concerns about community safety and conflict resolution in the capital.
