HIGHLANDERS FC is set to address long-standing concerns over the club's finances at a members' meeting scheduled for 25 January at the Club House.

The meeting, which will start at 9 a.m., comes amid ongoing complaints about the alleged mismanagement and shortfalls in the club's funds. Members will focus on financial reports and seek clarity from club treasurer Nkani Khoza and chairman Kenneth Mhlophe regarding the state of the club's coffers.

In recent seasons, Highlanders has struggled to account fully for operating expenses, raising questions among supporters about transparency in the handling of funds. Past failures to provide proper financial statements have fueled speculation about irregularities.

The agenda for the meeting includes receiving the treasurer's report, which forms part of the board's accountability to members and oversight of club operations. Discontent among members has grown, with supporters questioning why financial gaps persist despite consistently high attendance at matches.

Businessman Wicknell Chivayo and other sponsors have continued to inject funds into the club, but concerns remain over the management of these resources.

The meeting comes as Highlanders has also undergone changes in its coaching staff, appointing South African coach Thabo Senong. Supporters are expected to seek reassurance on both the team's financial health and performance goals for the season, with the club aiming to compete strongly after last winning the league title in 2006.
