Zimbabwe have been handed a major vote of confidence at the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup after leading cricket analyst and commentator Dan Jadz ranked them as the eighth-best team in the tournament - placing them ahead of traditional powerhouses England and the Netherlands.

The bold ranking follows Zimbabwe's explosive start to their campaign. They opened with a commanding win over Oman, where Brian Bennett and veteran Brendan Taylor anchored a clinical run chase, reaching the target with 39 balls to spare. Blessing Muzarabani was named Player of the Match after scoring 16 crucial runs and claiming three wickets.

Zimbabwe then stunned the Australia national cricket team with a memorable 23-run victory at the R. Premadasa Stadium. Defending a competitive total of 169, Zimbabwe's pace attack ripped through Australia's top order, with Muzarabani delivering a match-defining spell of 4 for 17 to seal one of the tournament's biggest upsets.

"Blessing Muzarabani was brilliant. They played really nicely. They are going to be an interesting prospect in that group with Australia and Sri Lanka national cricket team," Jadz said.

Zimbabwe now turn their attention to a crucial Group B encounter against the Ireland cricket team at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. A win would virtually book their place in the Super 8 stage and further cement their reputation as one of the surprise packages of the competition.

With confidence soaring and momentum on their side, Zimbabwe are fast transforming from underdogs into genuine contenders.
