Gog'Bekezela to share stage with regional legends in Lesotho

Award-winning Afro-jazz and world music artiste Gog'Bekezela is set to represent Zimbabwe at the APICA Econet Festival taking place from February 27 to March 1 at Ramabanta Trading Post in Lesotho.
The celebrated songwriter, healer and cultural development practitioner will perform on February 28 at the regional festival, which brings together leading African musicians and showcases diverse cultural expressions from across the continent.
Nisbert Moyo, managing director of Gobela Arts Development Agency, which was founded by Gog'Bekezela, expressed excitement about the opportunity to represent Zimbabwe on such a prominent platform. He said the artiste, best known for his hit track "Bekezela," has been working on new material that audiences can expect to hear during the performance.
Moyo described the festival as a significant opportunity to showcase Zimbabwe's artistic excellence and strengthen the country's cultural footprint in the region. He added that sharing the stage with established acts such as Hot Stix Mabuse, Mawhoo and Kelvin Momo is both an honour and a milestone for the artiste and his team.
With more than 14 years of experience, Gog'Bekezela has performed across Africa and shared stages with renowned musicians including the late Oliver Mtukudzi and Zahara. His music explores themes of ancestral wisdom, spirituality and cultural identity, as reflected in songs such as "Bekezela" and "Mfihlakalo."
Moyo expressed confidence that the artiste's evolving sound and style will attract greater recognition and open new opportunities for both Gog'Bekezela and Gobela Arts Development Agency, while elevating Zimbabwe's presence on the regional music scene.
