The United States Embassy in Israel has advised that it is not in a position at this time to evacuate or directly assist American citizens seeking to depart the country.
In a public notice, the embassy said the information provided is intended to assist individuals as they make their own security and travel arrangements.
According to the advisory, the Israeli Ministry of Tourism began operating shuttle services to the Taba Border Crossing as of March 2.
Americans wishing to use the shuttle service must register through the Ministry of Tourism's evacuation form to be added to the passenger list.
The embassy emphasized that it cannot make any recommendation for or against the use of the shuttle service. It further stated that if individuals choose to use this option to depart Israel, the U.S. government cannot guarantee their safety. The information, the embassy noted, is being shared as a courtesy to those seeking to leave.
For those intending to travel to Jordan, passengers may take the shuttle to Eilat and then proceed independently by taxi to the Yitzhak Rabin Border Crossing.
The embassy reiterated that American citizens should continue monitoring official communications and make personal security decisions based on their individual circumstances.
