President Emmerson Mnangagwa is today expected to officially commission the new Greenfields Shopping Centre in Harare, marking a significant addition to the country's growing commercial infrastructure.

The modern retail mall, strategically located near the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show grounds, is set to improve convenience for residents while boosting economic activity through job creation and increased investment.

The facility features a mix of retail outlets, fast food franchises, banking services, and mobile network providers, positioning it as a comprehensive commercial hub aimed at meeting diverse consumer needs.

Developed under a public-private partnership between the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show and a consortium of private investors, the project reflects broader efforts to modernise Zimbabwe's retail sector and attract capital into commercial real estate.

Officials say the mall aligns with Government's policy thrust of promoting a private sector-led economy, while also supporting the formalisation of business activities.

The Greenfields Retail Centre is expected to contribute to Gross Domestic Product growth by stimulating trade, enhancing service delivery, and creating employment opportunities within the retail and services sectors.

Authorities believe such developments are key to transforming urban commercial spaces and positioning Zimbabwe as an attractive destination for both local and international investors.
