POLICE in Chegutu have arrested two men linked to a suspected motorcycle theft syndicate and recovered six stolen motorcycles as well as a solar battery.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrests of Andy Ushewokunze (30) and Titus Manjengwa, who are now assisting police with investigations into multiple theft and unlawful entry cases reported between January and May 20 this year.
"On May 21, 2026, police arrested Titus Manjengwa after receiving information that he was in possession of stolen motorcycles," said Commissioner Nyathi.
"Manjengwa implicated Ushewokunze, leading to his arrest at Mukohwe Shopping Centre in Pfupajena."
Police investigations have linked the suspects to at least 10 motorcycle theft cases in the Chegutu area, alongside a separate unlawful entry and theft incident at a house in Kaguvi Phase Four earlier this month, where a solar battery and television set were stolen.
Following the arrests, detectives recovered six motorcycles believed to have been stolen, as well as the solar battery.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, with police also pursuing two additional suspects identified as Tapiwa Ushewokunze and Last Masarakufa, who are believed to be part of the syndicate.
Commissioner Nyathi said police continue to intensify efforts to dismantle theft syndicates targeting motorcycles and household property in various parts of the country.
