Chivayo showers sister’s wedding with luxury gifts worth millions

Businessman Wicknell Chivayo reportedly presented an extravagant array of luxury gifts and cash donations at the wedding of his sister, Glendour, and her partner, Tendayi Chirombe, in a celebration marked by high‑value contributions from family, friends and business associates.
According to a list circulating on social media, Chivayo gifted the couple two Range Rover Sport vehicles valued at about US$250,000 each, a house worth US$500,000, a US$500,000 cash gift, a US$150,000 honeymoon shopping allowance, and three fully sponsored honeymoon destinations of their choice.
Chivayo also extended gifts to several individuals involved in the wedding. Religious leader Apostle Chipoyera was reportedly given a Rolls‑Royce Cullinan valued at approximately US$1.2 million, while designer Ishmael received a vehicle worth around US$30,000. The wedding’s best man was also reportedly gifted a Mercedes‑Benz C‑Class valued at about US$90,000.
Cash gifts were also distributed to members of the wedding party, including bridesmaids, groomsmen, masters of ceremonies and other participants. A number of entertainers and service providers — among them musician Leonard Zhakata, videographers, photographers, choreographers, sound engineers and event planners — were also reportedly rewarded.
The circulating list further attributes significant monetary contributions to several prominent figures, including President Emmerson Mnangagwa, businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei and legislator Scott Sakupwanya.
According to the figures contained in the list, total cash contributions amounted to approximately US$1.9 million, excluding the value of vehicles, property and other non‑cash gifts.
