Army commander urges Zimbabweans to ignore disruption calls

Zimbabwe National Army Commander Lieutenant General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi has called on Zimbabweans to carry on with their normal activities, declaring that tomorrow will be an ordinary working day and urging the public to maintain peace.

Speaking ahead of the day, Tapfumaneyi said businesses, government institutions and border posts should continue operating without interruption.

"Tomorrow is coming," he said. "We want people to go to work. We want the shops to function. We want the borders to function. We want every aspect of Zimbabwean society to function."

The army commander said peace and stability were essential for the country's development and cautioned against actions that could disrupt normal life.

"And in peace, we grow. We grow when there is peace. We don't want silly disruptions by adults who want to make a living out of disorder," he said.

His remarks come amid heightened public attention over calls for potential demonstrations, with authorities urging citizens to remain peaceful and continue with their daily activities.
