Youths affiliated to the Zimbabwe Youth Council (ZYC) have come up with a trendy design of white overalls symbolising peace, as a way of encouraging youths to contribute towards the realisation of maintaining harmony ahead of harmonised elections.
The 'hovhorosi' style that is making waves on the local scene has been taken a step further, as the designers have now come up with a new design of white overalls from the Gushungo Label.
ZYC senior board member Herbert Huruba and Harare Empowerment director James Pande said they have taken heed of the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces President Robert Mugabe's call to maintain peace.
They said youths are usually targeted by some politicians to instigate violence, but this time around young people are taking a stance and saying no to violence.
ZYC members and some models paraded in the central business district showcasing the white overalls.
The word 'peace' is inscribed on the lapel, 'Youths Building Zimbabwe' on the hip and Mugabe's signature on the back and front pocket.
The outfits are popular with the youths who are now moving around donning catchy bright trendy overalls.
The fashion trend is locally known as 'hovhorosi' and can be worn for various occasions or simply as an outfit.
