Unregistered SIM card users face arrest

Zimbabweans with sim cards that are not registered face arrest, the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) has said.

A 30-day ultimatum gazetted through statutory instrument 142 of 2013, for unregistered mobile users to register their sim cards, expired on November 1.

Alfred Marisa, Potraz deputy director, yesterday warned that they were taking measures to ensure all mobile users were registered.

Those with unregistered mobile lines or those who supplied false information, face prosecution.
