Six people die in Pathfinder bus accident

Six people, including the driver and a passenger in the haulage truck, died while several others were seriously injured after a luxury bus belonging to Pathfinder bus company collided head-on with a haulage truck along the Gweru-Bulawayo Road last night.

The bus was travelling from Harare to Bulawayo when it hit a cow and veered into the lane of the oncoming truck.

The accident occurred at about 7 pm yesterday, almost 80 km along the Bulawayo- Harare Road.

A total of 66 people were on board the pathfinder bus. About 37 injured have been rushed to the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH).

Private vehicles, the Fire Brigade, Government and Mars ambulances were among those who assisted in transporting the casualties.
