HARARE - A desperate woman on Wednesday dragged her husband's mistress to to the Civil Court seeking a protection order against her for allegedly ruining her marriage.

Linda Masendo summoned Constance Masero to the Harare Civil Court where she complained that she was being physically and verbally abused over her husband.

Masendo claimed that Masero was her husband's girlfriend and that she was ruining their marriage.

"She (Masero) is in the habit of attacking me with her gang each time we meet," she said.

Masendo told Harare Civil Court magistrate, Tafadzwa Muvhami that she was now scared of going to her workplace because Masero and her gang were threatening to break her legs if ever they found her there.

"I got married to my husband four years ago and we have been living together in peace, but we started having problems since she started dating him," said Masendo.

She said Masero was in the habit of sending vulgar massages on her phone, insulting her over the man.

"Masero denied the allegations, saying both of them were girlfriends to the man as he had a wife.

"She is not married to my man, but we are just his girlfriends because I know that man's real wife," said Masero.

She claimed Masendo was the one who was in the habit of sending vulgar messages on her mobile phone.

"Right now as we speak, I am the one who is living with that man at my house because he loves me," she said.

Muvhami granted the protection order in Masendo's favour which barred Masero from physically or verbally abusing her and to stop sending messages on her mobile phone.
